Goals…we know we need them,
or we should know…
but how and where to begin?
Goals are
extremely important and nothing kills a goal faster than …….
To complete our goals we need to
be S.M.A.R.T.
S -
Specific. I want to be a healthier
person is not
a specific goal.
M -
Measurable.
I will decrease my daily sugar intake. If you have 2 pops/sodas a day, decrease
it to 1 a day for a week.
A- Attainable/ Achievable. You might not be able
to go "cold turkey" by cutting out all sugary drinks in a day;
however, you might be able to decrease a can of soda a day.
R- Relevant. Relevant or Purposeful. Your purpose. Drinking
1 less soda /can of pop a day can lead to your
weight loss and better wellness. Having the same goal as your friend may not be
relevant or purposeful to YOUR life.
T- Timely. Every goal needs to
have a time table with it. When will you start and
end this goal? Your
goal might say “I will decrease my soda/pop intake by 5 cans in the next 2
weeks.” If today is January 1.Then the goal completion date should be January
14.
